If you haven’t set foot in Moreton Bay National Park before, you probably haven’t enjoyed some of the best that Mother Nature has to offer in Oz. It is one of the most amazing venues you will have the privilege of visiting while holidaying in Moreton Bay.

Moreton Bay National Park forms almost 98% of Moreton Island in Queensland, Australia. Natural features such as the creeks, lakes, and swamps at the park are accessible, with various recreation areas to create an eminently enjoyable holiday destination. There’s an amazing collection of plants that flourish and visitors can look forward to exploring the mangroves and swamps, and trying to identify the native Australian plants and wildflowers. Recreation-wise, there are designated campsites where you can set up your tents and enjoy a great day out at the park.

A Bit of Wildlife

There are also Moreton Bay day trips for nature lovers who would like to explore the national park. Take a four wheel drive around the park to discover the wildlife or you take a  leisurely walk to drink in the beauty of the environment around you. There are walking tracks for visitors and a choice of short strolls to hiking routes that take several hours at the Park. If you take the Telegraph Track, you will experience the wonder of watching migrating birds and view some of the best scenery on Moreton Island, which includes a breathtaking sea view and a view of the Cape Moreton lighthouse.

The sandy desert is also located within the national park and offers extreme sun-worshippers a mass of white sand to bask on. There are daily tours to the desert and visitors are provided with toboggans to experience the thrill of sand boarding, where you slide down the sand mountains!

There are also four wheel drives to rides  the sand dunes if you don’t feel like trudging back to the top.

Blue Lagoon Swimming

You can also take a short walk through the Park to reach the Blue Lagoon. You can enjoy a cool dip in the cystal clear, azure waters, snorkel, or sunbathe to your heart’s content. Take a stroll along the beach or have picnics as you relax and unwind. Come nightfall, you might be on course for a romantic date with your partner, stargazing at the beach!
